2022 | Inundated

“In his waterlogged, flooded home, a character slowly - and silently - meets his eventual demise.”

Completed in early-mid 2022, “Inundated” is an animated short film based off the Red Room Poetry poem “The Act of Water” by Duy Quang Mai. Melancholic, reflective, and hopeless-in-feeling, the film captures the last moments of a character trapped within their flooded home.

For this film, I primarily was responsible for Background Design, Inbetweening, Colouring, and Compositing.

Environment Design

I was responsible for all the Background / Environment Design (but still consulted with other group members to ensure everyone agreed with how the background looked).

Wanting to show a progression of time and the feeling of hopelessness, the house interior’s colour palette is drastically colder in colour. Additionally, it gradually shifts from teal to a colder blue throughout the film.
